When It Rains; It Pours

Rain

You ever have a photo you just can’t wait to upload? This is one of those photo’s.

I used to work in a kitchen, and after a terrible shift one evening I was looking for a way to calm myself down and relax a bit. It was intensely raining when I got off work but I was still set on chilling myself out by taking some photo’s on my QL19.

I worked pretty close to a Wal-Mart Shopping center, so I went a stood at the entrance of the store, in out of the rain. My intention was that I would get some interesting photo’s of some interesting people, being interesting at the local Wal-Mart. You know… to try and get some quality photo’s for peopleofwalmart.com…. –

As I was standing watching people run out of the rain, I was looking for that perfect person to snap a shot of running in out of the rain and capturing that pain of being rained on.

Just as I was looking out I saw a lone Umbrella go flying by in the wind. And then, the lonely misfortune owner of the umbrella running after it. – I knew right then that I needed to capitalize on the photo opportunity, but instead, I hesitated. I said to my self, “what if I get my 1971 Canon QL19 wet?” – I quickly bashed those thoughts back in my head and darted out in the rain after the man chasing his umbrella.

The battery in my camera is dead, and I’ve been searching for a replacement but they don’t make the type battery anymore, so I’m searching for one that could work. – Saying that, The internal Light meter doesn’t work in my camera. So, I’m totally estimating the camera settings. – It’s slightly underexposed.

I should have ran up closer to the man, but it seemed like he was about to catch his fleeing umbrella, so, before I lost the picture completely , I took the shot on the 45mm lens from a distance. I wish I was closer and more intimate.

None the less it is a testimony of being at the right place at the right time.

Thanks for reading.
