Is it broken?

IMG_1054.jpg

After jumping off the stage at the end of his set… Marcel, Lead vocals and guitar of band called Die Hexe , announced to the audience that he thought he broke his ankle.

For the rest of the show, he was be asked probably around 100 times.. if it was broken..

no word yet from the doctor whether or not it is actually broken.. but pretty punk rock regardless of the outcome.

Great Weather For A LightHouse

IMG_9069.jpg

I feel like a Lighthouse would enjoy great weather way more than the rest of us. I mean that if a light house was an actual human of course. Like imagine having to stand on guard every moment of every hour of every day, ready at all times to lead people home?

You don’t get to move, or leave, or take a break. You just have to do your job, all the time with no questions asked.

You are single-handedly responsible for keeping people off the rocks that could lead to them crashing and drowning to their death. What kind of responsibility is that?

I feel like, on good weather days (Days without a potential storm in the middle of the night) that a lighthouse must feel some sort of overwhelming peace. A relaxation that only a factor that is out of our control yet leading toward the side of caution can grant. A peace so freeing that you can’t help but feel alive.

A Lighthouse must love days with a great weather forecast.

If a light house was a human of course…

Crowd.

I found my self in the photography pit fro a recent local August Burns Red concert. It’s a funny story how I got int here to begin with. But once in there, I realized I was totally unprepared to take concert photo’s. I was shooting a Vlog that day for another project.

There were a few moments when the lights were right for my Kit lens on my canon 60D to handle the surroundings.

I wasn’t actually trying to take this picture, it was more of “hey I see my friend in the crowd lets take a picture of him” at the exact moment a very popular song started up by the band , the crowd roared and I snapped a picture with loads of emotion.  And my friend Matt smiling center frame.

There were only like 3 other pictures that turned out from the 100 that I took.

Such is life.

Sad.

It almost seems to sad to emit any light at all. But every night, when it’s to dark to see, it shines the brightest.

And so can you.

The Road. (Day 26)

IMG_4235

If you read my last blog you will know that my film camera has been put on the shelf until I can figure out how to repair it. I still have several other film camera’s, but for a bit I think I’m going to use my DSLR. The 60D and friends.

This is the road I grew up on. There are millions of roads like this road in the world. But this one is mostly home to me. It’s been the most consistent home to me.

I moved around a lot with my mom. Different cities and towns. But this road, this is the road that has always been the same road. The same tree’s. The same neighbors and their barns. The same fields and crops. Smells and sunsets.

This road is where fathers family grew up. It’s the road that lives most the stories I’ve heard of my ancestors. It’s a place I can walk where my family has also walked. The land that we have owned for many many years.

This is where I should add the ‘But’ statement. As much as I could tell you about the land and it being in line to be sold, and issues out of our control. I won’t. The Land will always be there. It just may be creating a new story or holding new lives.

Sometimes, we have to movie on to the next chapter of life if we want to continue our story.

You Are Loved (day 24)

IMG_0309.JPG

Today’s photography adventure took me to my backyard. I was hanging some products on a fence to try and display the front and back of the garment. When I hung the tank top on coat hanger it looked stupid. So, I threw it down in this pile of leaves instead.

The image has received more likes on the Instagram than any photo before it and has been the spark for sales for the tank top. – I threw it into some leaves and took a picture of it.

Canon 60d 40mm 2.8 I think the shutter speed was something like 1/500 – it was bright out.

You are so loved beyond measure it’s not even comprehendible.

Fade. (day 21)

Before I owned a real camera I owned a iPhone 4. – I never had a camera or took many pictures before having this phone. 2 megapixels this 1.9 megapixels that. But then I acquired the iPhone. i was able to easily take and upload pictures. – The first pics I took were of strangely.. Natural Gas Wells – I was working in a Oil & gas field and took pics of pipes sticking out of the ground. – That was the when I got the bug. Seeing an object that suddenly has personality. Seeing a bunch of pipes come to life because of the image.

So I started taking pictures of lots of things.. thousands of things.

My iPhone 4 recently died. It lasted almost 4 years. So, not to be a fanboy, I bought the iPhone 5s. The thing has a freaking finger print scanner on it are you kidding me!

Anyway’s , I’ve been trying to rescue the pictures off of my iPhone 4 and am compiling alot of the pics that I took, Edited and uploaded, only using the iPhone.

This is one of them. – Kind of a mystic Fog happening around the tree, but it’s actually just over exposed.
